WAYA Rentals needed a web site to showcase their quality vacation rentals, answer basic questions about the properties and company, and encourage visitors to call owner Ron Morales to setup their next getaway. The site features easy ways to sort through property listings, breathtaking photo slideshows, and a distinctively classy aesthetic, setting WAYA apart from their competitors.
Windy City Help Desk, an IT consulting company for home, small business, and non-profit clients, needed a web site that inspired confidence in the company’s capabilities and answered common questions about the business. The resulting site is informational, helpful, and focuses on being reassuring to visitors, avoiding the panicked look & feel of their competitors.
A Southern Illinois real estate development needed an informational site to reach out to home buyers in St. Louis and Chicago. The new design highlighted the scenic subdivision and its tight community focus. The site launch was accompanied by a Google AdWords campaign to attract buyers in the targeted cities.
Charity Splits’ mission is to bring the fun and excitement of 50/50 raffle splits to the web. However, their first site was hampered by a confusing ticket process for charities and participants. Their new site re-focused attention on the raffle events, improved the ticket buying experience, and provided premium customers with more ways to customize their event pages to match their brand.
For my senior thesis project, I proposed a redesign of a local credit union’s outdated online banking system. The new design improved access to services, eliminated usability errors, and aligned the look & feel to the recently relaunched corporate identity.
I was lead interface designer for a multi-million dollar online poker venture. My responsibilities included creating a consistent design for a custom poker client, running usability tests, and working with developers to implement design specifications.
Social media site STICKO needed a Flash interface designed to showcase an individual user’s shared content.
The International Union of Operating Engineers needed a site to inform their members and a members-only section to help them sign-up for union benefits. I was responsible for interface design for the public site and front-end development for the members-only section.
A regional outlet mall chain needed software designed for a kiosk in an upcoming marketing promotion. The kiosk would travel to each of their locations inviting customers to play a touch-screen trivia game that integrated the brands of outlet mall retailers and allowed participants to win prizes.
The USARPS League (America’s official Rock Paper Scissors league) needed a small web application built to help run their 2007 championship tournament in Las Vegas. The resulting application automatically pulled in player’s names and information making it easier to run the tournament and determine final results. The software continued to be used in qualifying matches in bars across the country for the 2008 championship.
Delmar Gardens, operator of luxury retirement facilities across the nation, needed both Flash and basic HTML sites for each of their locations, while maintaining a consistent look and feel across all locations.
The Williamson County Courthouse needed an informational website to reduce phone calls to the courthouse for common questions.
Court Money, a payment processor for county jails, courthouses, and municipalities, needed a redesign that appealed to its existing customers and also reached their new business clients. The new front-end switched to a tableless design with semantic markup providing organic SEO improvements and makes future changes to the site easier.
Nationwide nursing home provider RFMS needed to rollout over 20 location-specific micro-sites for their locations. I developed clean, standards-compliant front-end code with consistent naming conventions to provide a fast rollout of their location sites.
